Sent from the British Consulate in Reykjavik 20 August 1894, with Rio Grande do Sul receiving mark on front, 1 August 1894. Only recorded 10 aur card to Brazil, two other cards, a 5 aur and 8 aur cards with additional stamp has been recorded to South America, from Iceland, only three recorded.
5 aur BRJEFSPJALD with ornamental frame for photograph affixed on reverse. Card with greetings on reverse and dated Reykjavik 12 February 1899, and addressee filled out on the front, but apparently not processed for mail service. Very unusual card.

5 øre King Frederik VIII DANISH REPLY CARD sent from Akureyri to Copenhagen 28 January 1913, tied by circled “T” mark and mistakenly charged “10” aur by the Icelandic postal services alongside CDS “AKUREYRI” swiss-type. When the mistake was discovered, the 10 aur charge was cancelled.
Early stage proof of ornamentation alone in brownish violet, on blue green stock with smooth surface.
