Mixed franking CENTS/BIT 1 Cent Coat of Arms postcard and 5 BIT King Christian IX supplementary franking sent from St. Thomas to Montserrat 7. October 1905, a scarce destination. 1 Cent counted for 5 BIT, total postage 10 BIT for UPU countries. Mixed frankings CENT/BIT issues are rarities. Francs/BIT were introduced 15th July 1905.

20 BIT King Christian IX die colour proof in the approved dull ultramarine colour.. Printed on large paper 67 x 80 mm without watermark and gum. Only a few recorded.

Envelope from St. Thomas 11 September 1907 to N. Y. City, USA. Fraudulent letter because the sender has affixed a previously used King Christian IX 25 BIT adhesive. Endorsed ‘Timbre Frauduleux’ and circled with red crayon. A report form ‘Formular Nr. 120.’ was filled out and forwarded together with the fraudulent letter to the addressee under official mail service, the letter also taxed due for the insufficiently franking. As sender's addressee wasn't apparent on the envelope, the letter was forwarded. Only two such forms has been recorded from the Danish West Indies.

5 BIT King Christian IX, imperforate trial colour proof ultramarine/black, glued on thick gray carton from “GRAVIERABTEILUNG - REICHSDRUCKERIE”. Great rarity and apparently only one other with red frame known from Reichsdruckerei.

Envelope sent from Frederiksted 5. September 1906 to New York, USA. Franked with pair 10 BIT and 20 BIT King Christian IX issued tied by CDS “FREDERIKSTED 5/9 1906”, paying the 40 BIT UPU rate 15.9.1905 – 31.12.1909. Routing instruction “Pr. Trinidad”.

Registered letter from St. Thomas 7 March 1907 to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. 5 BIT, 10 BIT and 50 BIT King Christian IX issue tied by LAP “ST. THOMAS 7/3 1907” and boxed registration mark “R / St. Thomas D.V.I. / No 2561" in purple in and New York transit and Milwaukee reception mark on reverse. Letter rate 40 BIT UPU rate to US 15.7.1905 – 30.9.1907 plus 25 BIT registration fee, correct 65 BIT postage paid.

1 Franc pair and 25 BIT King Frederik VIII tied on large piece from parcelcard, franked at the rate of 2,50 Francs for a likely sent to Denmark via Germany, weighing up to 10 pound, rate valid after 1910 until 1917.

5 Francs St. Thomas Harbour issued cancelled with cds ‘ST. THOMAS 30/7 1908’. Plate flaw with broken white line under ‘K·VE’ in DANSK VESTINDIEN, on the upper stamp of the pair. AFA catalog value for the stamps alone DKK 5.400.

St. Thomas harbour 1 Franc, 2 and 5 Francs together with King Christian IX 5, 10, 20, 25, 40 and 50 BIT, complete sets on cover. Cancelled with cds CHRISTIANSTED 16/5 1906, registration mark 'Dansk Vestindien / R / No. 177 (6284)' and boxed 'Anbefalet'. ONLY THREE RECORDED with complete set of the King Christian IX and St. Thomas Harbour view on cover.

Favored rate 25 BIT within 1500 nautical miles from 1.5.1907 – 30.9.1909 plus 25 BIT registration fee, normal letter rate 40 BIT for all other countries. Announcement in St. Thomas Tidende 16.4.1907, included favored rate to Barbardos, Canada, Cuba, Curacao, USA, Grenada, Haiti, Jamaica, Martinique, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and Tobago and Trinidad, lowering the rate from 40 BIT to 25 BIT on 1 May 1907. SUPERB in every respect.

Printed Matter Wrapper Band sent from St. Thomas to Copenhagen 22 August 1907 on “pr. French steamer “Quebec” via Havre” in manuscript with Copenhagen arrival mark 9.9 on reverse. 25 BIT pays for 5th weight class of printed matters, extremely scarce letter with the Kings issue.
