Letter from Stóra-Giljá with numeral 275 on letter to Stagafirdi franked with 400 aur. Between 1.1.1963 – 30.9.1963 the rate were 400 aur.

Piece from package, sent from FPO 304 and franked with 2d and 2 1/2d and sent to England, and censor 1216 stamped on front.

Postcard sent from Reykjavik 2. May 1911 to Rosario de Santa Fé, Argentina. On picture side bearing a pair 3 aur and a 4 aur King Christian IX tied by “Reykjavik 2.V.11” CDS, transit mark “LONGHOPE – ORKNEY MY 8 11” on address side.

10 aur postal card sent from Isafjördur to Copenhagen 13 August 1908. On the back of the card there is a topographic photo attached and for which reason the card most likely should have been charged as a letter.

5 aur King Chr. IX BRJEFSPJALD, Schilling #16 sent from Reykjavik to Brünlos, Sachsen. Add. franked with 5 aur green King Chr. IX paying for 10 aur foreign post card rate. Sent via UK, and stamped with boxed “SHIP LETTER - TROON” alongside “TROON JY 17, 05”.

Letter from Stóra-Giljá with numeral 275 to Reykjavik bearing 20 aur red Geysir issue. Until 31 December 1939 the letter rate were 20 aur, thus used between 1938-1939.

Printed matter sent from “Reykjavik ?” to London via Bergen, franked with pair 1 Eyr Chr. X and Jochumsson 5/35 aur tied by “Bergen 24 April 1939” CDS alongside boxed lilac “Paquebot” mark. A rare and unusual letter.

10 aur Printed Matter sent from Reykjavik to New York December 1925 posted aboard a ship in Reykjavik going to Aberdeen and there cancelled with the boxed “SHIP LETTER” alongside two-ring “ABERDEEN 2 – 27.DE.25”. Correctly franked with 10 aur.

Postcard sent from Reykjavik to Gent in Belgium 5 August 1902, bearing a 4 aur 1900 and pair of 3 aur 1901, making up the 10 aur UPU postcard rate. Transit mark CDS “TROON 330 - C 13 AU 02” alongside boxed “SHIP LETTER - TROON” alongside and Gand receiving mark on front. Scarce combination.

Letter sent from US First Marine Brigade to San Fernando, CA 19 JAN 1942. Stamped by rectangular “Marine's Mail - CG 1st MarBrig (Provisional)” in greenish blue, alongside “Passed by Naval Censor” in same colour.

20 aur light violet I printing 1876 cancelled with Bær antiqua mark. A fantastic well preserved color. Exhibition item.

6 aur Í GILDI ’02-’03 RED overprint on IV. printing, smudgy grey. Hinged, very fine centering. Excellent copy.

Letter sent from Iceland, stamped Reykjavik 29 September (1893) to Vejle, Denmark. The adhesive has gone missing enroute to Denmark, then noted in blue crayon with a cross “mgl” meaning missing/mangler with Copenhagen transit mark and Vejle receiving mark on reverse. Charged 30 øre by the addresse, which likely is the 30 aur 2nd letter rate, some restoration to preserve an unusual letter from Iceland.

8 sk. Pjónustu lilac imperforate with large part of the corner margins. Rare.

10 aur Postal card “BREJFSPJALD” 1880-issue, Schilling #3 sent from Iceland Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Sent from the British Consulate in Reykjavik 20 August 1894, with Rio Grande do Sul receiving mark on front, 1 October 1894. Only recorded 10 aur card to Brazil. Two other stationery cards are recorded to South America; one 5 aur and one 8 aur card uprated with stamps from Iceland, only three recorded.

Thorvaldsensfélagid 1930 Christmas seal tied on postcard franked with 15 aur Kings issue sent from Reykjavik to Saltsjöbaden in Sweden on 3. November 1930. Rare on letters to foreign destinations.

Printed matter sent from Blönduós to Copenhagen 22 June 1916 bearing a 5 aur Two King’s issue tied by Blönduós CDS. Taxed 2 aur in blue chalk with circular “T” alongside boxed shipmark “Skjibsbref”. Unknown for what reason the letter has been taxed, as 5 aur was the correct rate at this time.

5 Kr. King Frederik VIII 1912, used block of four cancelled “Reykjavik 29.XII.21” with nicely centred cancellation.
