Entire dated St. Thomas 18. juni 1851 to Bordeaux. Sent with RMSPC “CLYDE” to Southampton, London 7 July, Calais 8 July. In France charged “8” decimes by addressee. On reverse “forwarded from London by J.D.” and listed in K. Rowe “The Postal history of the Forwarding agents”.

Printed Matter Wrapper Band sent from St. Thomas to Copenhagen 22 August 1907 on “pr. French steamer “Quebec” via Havre” in manuscript with Copenhagen arrival mark 9.9 on reverse. 25 BIT pays for 5th weight class of printed matters, extremely scarce letter with the Kings issue.

"Postcard sent from St. Thomas to 13 August 1900 on German steamer „ASCANIA” with manuscript cancellation on 3 cents IX printing inverted frame, stamp cancelled with ink "X + 31/8. 00.” alongside purser mark ASCANIA."

"Entire from St. Thomas 16 January 1858 to Hamburg via London. Rate to Hamburg 3 sh. 2d ( 3 ounce letter 1/4 per 1/4 ounce plus 2d marked by ink) red chalk "54" payable by receiver. Cancelled with the British St. Thomas Post Office single 1-ring on the reverse, quite a scarce postmark."

3 cents imperforate 1856, brown gum, plate 1. Cancelled with clear strike of 4-ring cancel without dot (St. Thomas), the only postmark of this type recorded on the 3c 1856 imperforate adhesive.

Folded letter sheet from Arroyo, Puerto Rico 9 April 1870 via St. Thomas to New York, USA. Franked with 10c yellow bright shade pictorial issue (SC 116) tied by N YORK – STEAM SHIP and ST. THOMAS 14/4 1869 cds, routing instruction Pr. Brazil Str. and forwarder Lamb & Co cachet in red. A beautiful letter.

2¢ ultramarine shade stationery envelope sent from St. Thomas 21 July 1879 to Portland, USA. With watermark IA, thin paper and ungummed flap. Carried onbard Brazil Lin’es COLORADO, first of three charters replacing regular sailings of USBMSC CITY ships. Small stain at top right outside the imprint. Eight 2¢ ultramarine stationery envelopes in used condition are recorded.

PRINTED MATTER envelope St. Thomas 7 February 1905 to Utrecht, The Netherland. 1¢ Coat-of-Arms issue (AFA 16) tied with “UTRECHT 24 FEB 05” receiving mark on reverse. In this form as an envelope sent as printed matter is extremely rare. Rate 1¢ from 1.1.1902 – 14.7.1905.

Commercial envelope sent from Charlotte Amalie Saint Thomas to Copenhagen 16 July 1918, franked with 5¢ US. British censor resealing tape “OPENED BY/CENSOR./5213”. Sent the year after the transition to the US.

2 Francs St. Thomas Harbour, hinged, imperforate. Extremely rare.

Printed matter from Christiansted 25 November 1916 to Copenhagen, Denmark. 5 BIT printed matter rate paid with 5 BIT King Frederik VIII issued tied by “CHRITIANSTED 25/11 1916”. Rarely seen postal rate.

Christmas Seal 1913 tied on post card sent from Christiansted to Copenhagen, Denmark, dated 27 November 1913.

Unpaid lettersheet dated St. Thomas 30 January 1853 to Frankfurt, Germany sent onboard RMSPC „THAMES”, stamped with large arc “ST. THOMAS 6 FEB 1853” and arriving Southampton 7 March, stamped London 7 MR 1853, transit “AUS ENGLAND 8/3”. Routing instruction “Pr. Steamer via Ostende). Due to heavy gales from 15/2 delayed for more than a week. Charged 1/4 d for British postage, and German due (58 Rb. Sk.). Letters from DWI to Germany from this period considered a rarity.

Single postal card 10 BIT King Frederik VIII St. Thomas 28. December 1911 to Hof, Germany. Uprated with 5 BIT King Frederik VIII although not necessary with a Christmas Seal from 1911. There are only two Christmas seals from DWI on stationery cards recorded.

"Transition letter. British censored WWI letter sent from St. Thomas 3 May 1917, bearing five 1 cent US stamps tied by Danish type CDS "ST. THOMAS 3.5.1917". 5 US Cents equals 25 BIT. Faults on some of the US stamps and cover, however an extremely scarce letter in this appearance."

King Christian IX, imperforate colour essay, red colour with wide margins also to the right, with gum. Considered to be the work of Alfred Jacobsen.

2¢ Stationery envelope from St. Thomas 2. July 1895 to St. Jan. Envelope with watermark I-C cancelled with in St. Thomas and receiving mark “ST. JAN 2/7 1895” DAKA Ant. 2. Underpaid with 1¢, thus taxed and struck “T” and charged 2¢ by addressee. Envelope with small crease at top left and slightly visible vertical fold.

Single postcard 2¢ blue 5 lines, Frame Group 3Ha, with blurred 1st “ENPOST” in 1st text line sent from St. Thomas 15 September 1896 to St. Kitts, with receiving mark on front. Sent at the 2¢ Caribbean favored rate within 300 nautical miles, a rare postal rate on postcards.

Unpaid letter sent from St. Thomas to Nantes 24 January 1866 by French line B via St. Nazaire. Stamped French Octagonal “ST. THOMAS - PAQ. FR. B No. 1” and two-ring “COL. FR. PAQ. Fr. - 2 ST. NAZAIRE 2” in red. Erroneously stamped manuscript due mark “16” decimes and corrected to 10 decimes. In January 1866 the weight and rate changed from 7,5 grms to 10 grams per letter, and increased from 80 centimes to 100 centimes (10 decimes). Interesting letter.
