Queen Victoria, surface-printed, large white letters, 5 shilling rose, plate 1 and 2, cancelled with obliterator 'C51'. One stamp plate 1 in very fine condition, plate 2 with round corners.

5 BIT 1905 provisional, overprint on 4 cents bicolored, pos. 81-82, 91-92. Lower stamps with inverted isolated frames in mint never hinged block of four with corner sheet margin.

Double rate printed matter sent from Frederiksted to Copenhagen 29 December 1913 bearing a 10 BIT King Frederik VIII red tied by “Frederiksted” CDS and office cancel stamped on front “PRINTED MATTER”. Printed matters are scarce in this form from Danish West Indies.

Instruction to the post JULEAFTEN for delivery Christmas evening and routing instruction BY/GERMAN STEAMER. UPU postcard rate 10 BIT from 15.7.1905 – 31.12.1909.

Letter sheet stamped “ST THOMAS / Aug 2 / 1813” British fleuron mark, sent to London and backstamped circled “D / 9 SE 9 / 13”. Charged 2/2. Single packet letter rate 1/2 (1813-37), to London 1/ (Falmouth-London 1812-39, 200-300 miles), total rate charged 2/2.

Letter sent from St. Thomas to New York, stamped with red “ST. THOMAS - OFFICE - EXPRESS” in red, dated 8 February 1864.

Letter sent from St. Thomas to New Jersey, NY 16 March 1894 franked with a 10 cents VIa printing tied by “St. Thomas” CDS and NY and Jersey City arrival mark March 22 on reverse. Went on American steamer endorsed “Pr. America Mail”

Local double rate letter within St. Thomas 3/7 1902. Pair 2 CENTS 1902 provisional COPENHAGEN overprint on 3¢ bicolored IX printing inverted frame, tied by ST: THOMAS 3/7 1902. 4¢ correct double 2¢ domestic letter rate from 1.1.1902 – 14.6.1905. EARLIEST REPORTED USE of the Copenhagen provisional. From the St. Thomas post office inventory the first 25 sheets were sold on 2 July 1902 and likely a FIRST DAY USE and 4 days earlier that the previously earliest reported use.

Entire letter sheet dated St. Croix 24 October 1819 to Armagh, Ireland. Charged 1/1 and stamped BELLMULLET on arrival, scarce landing location on mail from Danish West Indies.

Letter sheet from St. Thomas 9 March 1877 to Vera Cruz, Mexico. Double rate letter 2x60c paid with three 40c orange Siège de Paris tied by octagonal ST. THOMAS / PAQ. FR. B. No. 4 / 9 MARS 77, cds ST. THOMAS 9/3 1877, and on arrival stamped 25 cts delivery fee. Sent with French steamer Ville Bordeaux, arriving from St. Nazaire via Fort de France, St. Thomas to Vera Cruz. A most attractive letter.

Small envelope from St. Thomas 23 January 1903 to St. Croix. Bisected 4 CENTS III. printing greenish blue shade, which is rarely seen on letters.

Docketed “Governmenthouise, St. Croix 6 September 1831” to London, England. Struck boxed “PACKET LETTER” in red on reverse and London 1-ring “C / 8 OC 8 / 1831” red, charged 2/2 to London by addressee for a single rate letter.

Local postcard sent within St. Thomas 28 October 1905. 5 BIT green King Christian IX with plate flaw colorspot below B in bottom frame, pos. 48 in 1st printing. Domestic postcard rate 5 BIT from 15.6.1905 – 31.3.1917.

Unpaid single weight letter docketed St. Thomas 12. July 1873 to Genova, Italy. With RMS ELBE to London, then forwarded to Italy in the closed mails through France. Upon arrival in Genova, a collection of 17 decimi was required to pay the Italian internal postage, included the 14½ decimi fee to England. Under terms of the Anglo-Italian Convention, the postage due to Great Britain was a combination of the 1 sh. (12 decimi) per ¼ ounce British transatlantic packet service and transit fee to France, plus the 1 Franc per 30 gram (25c per 7½ gram) closed mail transit fee through France to Italy, for a total of 14½ decimi. Added to this amount was 20 centisimi per 7½ gram Italian internal postage, and the total was rounded up to 17 decimi.

Postcard St. Thomas 2 February 1903 to Antigua. 2¢ provisional bisected 4¢ tied by CDS “ST. THOMAS 2/2 1903” with receiving mark “ANTIGUA FB 10/03” on front. Unusual destination and rare type of private BREV-KORT.

"Unsevered double card “1 CENT 1901” provisional issue 1st printing, frame Group 3C. Sent from Christiansted 9.1.1902 to St. Thomas, posted on ship, and cancelled on arrival in St. Thomas with “C” Christiansted and CDS “ST. THOMAS 9/1 1902” receiving mark. Reply sent from St. Thomas 3 April 1902 to Christiansted. Only 50 cards printed of the first printing with parenthesis around "ANTILLES DANOISES", this card is unsevered, extremely rare in used condition."
