Postmarked KJØBENHAVN 30/10 1857, KDOPA HAMBURG 31/10, HAMBURG 31 OCT 1857, transit LONDON BG NO2 57 PAID, British post office ST. THOMAS NO 20 1857 and ST. THOMAS 20/11 1857. A due mark in circle PORTO stamped in Danish West Indies, 4¢ due by addressee, this is the earliest recorded PORTO and the most beautiful of letters recorded with this scarce due cancellation.

Postage Due imperforate black proof sheet of eight, with two rows of 5, 30, 20 and 50 BIT, on white paper with full gum.

Letter from New York to Frederiksted September 23, 1912 franked with US 2 cents. Underfranked and taxed 30 centimes equals 30 BIT on arrival in DWI. 30 BIT postage due stamp on reverse. Rare.
