White parcel registration label '680 Thorshavn' - Postage paid and stamped 'FÆRØERNE FRANCO BETALT' without value - a provisional postmark due to the shortage of postage stamps.

This year only, BBC had agreed to broadcast Christmas Greetings to relatives in Denmark. The fee was 5 Kr. - and should be sent to the British Consulate and this letter contained a note of 5 Kr. Letter rate 20 øre plus 30 øre registration fee.

Sent from Thorshavn in marine mail bag addressed to an Officer Vedel, on the cruiser „Heimdal”, care of Købmagergade’s post office. Forwarded to the marine station at Korsør, the homeport of Heimdal.
