Royal Service letter endorsed “D.S.” sent from Schleswig-Holsteinische Regierung in Gottorp to Norderditmarschen 9 August 1848 with postal town manuscript on reverse “Von Schleswig den 11 August list 5 – “ and with full contents and well preserved wax seal.

Unpaid parcel letter sent from Wandsbeck 25 May 1864 to Neuenkirchner Wiseh near Wilster with RED WANDSBECK CDS, and then returned to Wandsbeck with Crempe transit mark. Danish postmarks used when Schleswig-Holstein were occupied by the Prussian and Austrian forces.

Unpaid letter sent from Heiligenhafen to Burg Fehmern 17 January 1853, stamped with 1-line mark “Heiligenhafen” + ink. 17/1 and “2” Sch. C due in red crayon. Heiligenhafen 1-line mark only recorded used from 16.11.52 till 21.1.1853 a little more than only two months. Scarce. Heiligenhafen is located north of Oldenburg and south of the Fehmarnsund Brücke in Holstein.

Postal Money Order sent from Grube to Burg 9 April 1858, with 3 Rdl. 87 s. and paid in cash with 12 sk., weighing 4 1/2 loth. Town manuscript on front “Grube 9/4 58” and from 1.1.1857-31.3.1866 Grube was a small collecting office, located between Cismar and Oldenburg in the Duchy of Holstein.

Letter sent from Lübeck to Altona 6 August 1862 baring a 4 sk. 1858-issue tied by numeral “3” alongside two-ring “BAHNH.LUEBECK * K. DÆN.POST 6/8 I.Z.”

Partly paid letter sent from Glückstadt to Cuxhaven 23 April 1866 bearing a 1 1/4 Sch. “HERZOGTH.HOLSTEIN” Mi. 20 tied by railway mark “BAHNHOF GLÜCKSTADT Z2 23 4 1866” and charged by the addressee for the postage from Hamburg to Cuxhaven by blue “3”. Ritzebüttel transit mark on reverse.

"1 1/4 Schilling blue/rose rouletted issued. Cancelled with the very different looking four-ring cancel "WESSELBUREN"."

"Letter sent from Altona to Laurvig in Norway 15 October 1867, franked with a 3-strip 2 Sch. blue Herzogth-Holstein cancelled with "Hamburg-Kiel" railway mark with ship to Norway by ship from Kiel, crayon "24" on front. Minor faults to stamps, but indeed a scarce letter to Norway from Holstein."

Unpaid letter charged “6” sk. noted in red crayon sent from Herzhorn to Glückstadt 29 November 1859 and endorsed with town manuscript “Von Herzhorn 29/11 59”. Herzhorn is located in Holstein, just to the east of Glückstadt. Scarce.

Field Post letter sent from Apenrade to Berlin 30 November 1864 and postmarked “K.PR.FELDPOST-RELAIS No. 6”. The Prussian troops occupied Jutland in the 1864-war and opened a Field Post office in Apenrade where the postmark was used during and after the occupation. Letters with these postmarks are rarely seen.

Letter sent from Copenhagen to Friedrichstadt in Slesvig 24 October 1864, franked with 4 sk. 1864 tied by numeral “1” alongside København CDS. The letter was during the 1864-war after Slesvig was occupied by Prussian troops and in this period there were no postal arrangement between Denmark and Slesvig. In this case, the letter is not charged 1 1/4 Sch. C by the addressee.

"Official letter sent from Sommerstedt to Haderslev 4 July 1878 bearing a 10 DR pfennige tied by "SOMMERSTEDT 4 7 78 3-6N" PER I-o, DAKA 160.01a."

Napoleonic War. Royal Service Letter “K.D.S.” sent from Ahrensburg to Tremsbüttel 15 March 1814, noted “Durch reitende Bothen von Dorf, zu Dorf saglich zu besorgen, Abgesendt von Ahrensburg d. 15te Martz, des Morgens 9 1 2 Uhr” and with two was seals on reverse. Rare letter.

Royal Service letter sent from Cismar to Heiligenhafen 13 February 1859 with “Cismar” 1-line mark applied on front alongside “Lensahn” CDS. ARGE type 5.

Letter (front) sent from Kiel to Coblenz 13 August 1821 stamped with the boxed “KIEL” and the only recorded example of this postmark. Known for many years and certainly among the most wanted Danish postmarks used in the Duchy of Holstein.

Napoleonic War. Military letter endorsed “D.S.” Dienst Sache sent from Fresenburg to Tremsbüttel in Holstein 31 May 1813. On front endorsed “Lieut Sachau, Comm. Der 2’ Comp. ---“. An unusual endorsement on the front of the letter, 1 wax seal on reverse.

Unpaid letter sent from Rendbsburg franco Hamburg to Francomont 14 November 1833, showing the scarce boxed “RENDSB 13 Nov 33”, Hamburg transit “DANEMARCK – PAR HAMBOURG” and receiving mark in Francomont on reverse. “40” decimes due by addressee marked on front. Latest recorded date of the boxed Rendburg mark.

Parcel letter containing 30 Rdl 12 S sent from Tangstedt via Heidkrug, KDOPA Hamburg to Schleswig 8 October 1861, prepaid in cash with “24” Sch. C. noted in blue ink. and with town manuscript “Heidkrug” in ink. Tangsted is located just north of Hamburg. This is the earliest recorded manuscript of Heidkrug.

Express letter sent from Flensburg 1 October 1749 to Husum with full contents.

Letter prepaid 2 Sch. Courant in cash (6 skilling Danish) sent from Eutin to Hamburg 6 April 1852 stamped “EUTIN” 1-line and dated in manuscript “6/4 52” below the mark. Postmark known from February 1850 till April 1852, this letter being the latest recorded use. Rare.

Official letter sent from Brunsbüttel to Meldorf 2 March 1855, charged 6 sk. by the addressee. “Brunsbüttel” CDS Ant. IIb in blue ink.
