Copenhagen, Telegram from Great Britain, Copenhagen 24 June 1945. Post war censor mark 'C [Crown] 8' in violet. Rare.

'frit' noted letter originally franked with 4 sk. bicolored Ib printing (1870) cancelled with numeral '89' Marstal and datestamp 'MARSTAL 24/2 1871'. Due to the 'frit' manuscript in lower left corner, the letter was subject to full unpaid rate of 6 sk. Thus, when bringing the letter to the counter af the post office, the clerk noted the franco marking, and sender was obliged to pay the missing 2 sk. - and then an additional stamp of 2 sk. lineperforation 12 1/2 1864-issue added. An extremely rare postal history item.

'Kriegsgefangenenpost / Rückantwortbrief' written by Stella Skov in Copenhagen on 20 March 1945 to her husband Hans Skov, prisoner no. '309020'. Stamped in red 'Interneret Post', 'Retur' and 'Overflyttet til Frøslev' and dateline mark '22. MRTS.1945'. Hans Skov was arrested on 19 September 1944 and sent to Buchelwald the same date, and transferred to Frøslevlejren 10 April 1945 from KZ Buchenwald. He was arrested with reason for 'Aktion politi'.

Feldpost card from Tondern 13 October 1917 to Berlin. Censored boxed 'Geprüft / 5. Mar.-Luftschiff-Trupp' and circular 'Kaiserliche Marine / Postprüfung / V. Marine- Luftschiff-Trupp Tondern' both in red ink.

Letter from Svendborg 7 June 1858 to the small island Lyø just outside Faaborg. 4 Sk. 1854 cancelled with numeral '70' Svendborg, backstamped with straightline mark 'SVENDBORG' LIN-2, and manuscript '7/6 1858'. Only recorded example of this 1-line mark.

Market report sent from Newcastle Tyne to Randers 26 September 1854 bearing a 4 RBS Thiele III tied by numeral 113 alongside “KPA ALTONA 29.9.54” CDS. A unique example of the enterprise arisen from the stampless period in Hamburg from 1.1.1853 – 31.7.1855 when letters only could be paid by 6 sk. in cash when sent from Hamburg. In order to save 2 sk. postage, agents carried letters to Altona from where they could be sent for only 4 RBS. A proof of this unique service proven by the seal “BEFÖRDERT DURCH HAMBURG – HIN.R. PELTZER” – Only recorded example.

Letter from London 22 January 1940 to Copenhagen. Without stamps that was loosened by water and stamped 'Beskadiget af Søvand'. Carried onboard DFDS ship S/S ”Vidar” sunk in the Northsea 31 January 1940, torpedoed by the German submarine U-21. 15 people died. Envelope in original glassine envelope from the Danish Post 'Heri en under Postbesørgelsen beskadiget Forsendelse.

Refugee letter from Sæby 23 April 1946 to Red Cross, London, England. Sent by 'Siegfried Hermann, Flüchtlingslager, Saeby-West Jütland (Dänemark). Backstamped with refugee camp mark '[CROWN] / LUFTVÆRNSKONTORET / SÆBY '

Danish parcel card (cut down) from Møgeltønder 16 June 1920 to Berlin, Germany. Three 20 øre 1. ZONE Plebiscit Slesvig tied by datestamp LØGUMKLOSTER 16.6.20 6-8F. White numbered label ‘423’ and stamped 1-line ‘Møgeltønder’, parcel weighing 5 Kg., parcel fee 0-5 kg 72 øre according to the Danish ‘Post- og Rejsehåndbog von 10.12.1919 s. 54’, underfranked 12 øre and not charged. ‘50’ blue crayon which apparently is customs duties.

Danish parcel card for two parcels from Haderslev 4 June 1920 to Soltau, Hannover, Germany. 5 Øre, pair 40 øre and two 1 Kr. 1. ZONE Plebiscit Slesvig, total franking 2,85 Kr. Purple value label without value ‘143 HADERSLEV’, red crayon ‘R’. Parcels weighing 11,5 Kg. Parcel fee 0-5 kg 60 øre, 5-11,5 kg, = + 6,5 kg. rounded up to 7 kg. with each kg. at 30 øre = 210 øre, registration fee 15 øre, total 285 øre, correct franking, minor faults on some stamps.

Plebiscit “Reise-Pas” page 5-6 issued Hamburg and stamped with the large VISA mark “Vised good for” stay in Slesvig at the border crossing Frørup, 12th April 1920 and valid for stay in Slesvig until 25 June 1920. Plebiscit SLESVIG 5 MK used as fiscal duty stamp, cancelled with oval “CIS 12. APR. 1920 SLESVIG”.

Unfranked postcard 23 July 1917 sent to 'Billetmrk' at the Kiosk at Kongens Nytorv. The official postal service postmark 'KJØBENHAVN B. 23.7.1917 3-4E B' and unfranked, then delivered to Telefonkiosken at Kongens Nytorv who must have paid the the postage. 5 øre blue (DAKA 1) 1896 first issue, postmarked with violet numeral 'TELEFONKIOSKEN / 1 / KONGENS NYTORV'. When collected the 5 øre stamp was paid by the addressee, although it is not explainable why the letter has not been charged due by the regular postal service. Extremely rare card.

Copenhagen Bypost - 10 øre Expresbrev with pointed flap on laid paper, blue sent to 'Kongens Nytorv 21, 3. sal' and with registration manuscript 'R·114' - Rare in used condition.
