DANMARK BEFRIET OVERPRINT 5 MAY 1945, with 10 øre blue overprint, 15 øre red overprint and 30 øre blue overprint cancelled with the large postmark GRØNLANDS / DEPARTEMENTET 27 May 1951. An extremely rare commercial letter although overfranked.

American Issue and 5, 15 øre King Christian X tied by datestamp UMANAK 11-6-1954, red express label, and Copenhagen reception stamp on reverse 7.7.1954. Letter rate 30 øre 0-50 gram, 100 øre express fee, overfranked by 1 Kr. Although a late use, most of the high value stamps were at this time still for sale at in Greenland and frequently used for parcel cards. Philatelic usage.

Registered letter from Commission Internationale Slesvig in Flensburg 17 May 1920 to Aabenraa, Denmark. 10 pf and 1 Mk. C·I·S overprint tied by datestamp FLENSBURG 17.5.20 5-6N, registration label ‘R / Flensburg 1. / No. 355’ and backstamped APENRADE 17.5.20.

Part of travel pass. Stamped with the large VISA mark “Vised good for” stay and fortsat rejse in Slesvig at the border crossing Farris, 21 FEB 1920. Plebiscit SLESVIG 5 MK corrected to 8 Kr. and used as fiscal duty stamp, cancelled with oval “CIS 25 JAN 1920 SLESVIG”. Stamped with cachets from the CIS.

German Personalausweis Nr. 77, issued in Lüneburg 6 Mai 1921, valid until 5 Mai 1921. Issued for Anna Schuhmann, Geboren Hansen. On the back of the Reisepass, Plebiscit “Reise-Pas” issued Hamburg and stamped with the large VISA mark “Vised good for” stay in Slesvig at the border crossing Stedesand, 10. Maj 1920 and valid for stay in Slesvig until 15 Mai 1920. Pair of Plebiscit SLESVIG 5 MK used as fiscal duty stamp, cancelled with oval “CIS 10. MAJ. 1920 SLESVIG” and oval CIS Stedesand cachet.

Royal letter signed by King Frederik IV, dated Haupt-Qvartier vor Stade 10 September 1712 and addressed to General and General Gouvenor Jobst von Scholten during Great Northern War (Store Nordiske Krig). The letter is written in Stade, only two days after the Swedish capitulation and Stade remained Danish until 1715.

Cash on Demand form from Thorshavn 11 January 1941 to Vaag. Complete COD form for 186,91 DKK and franked with provisional 60/6 øre paying the 60 øre COD rate up to DKK 300 from 1.7.1920 – 30.6.1946. Arrived at Vaag 13.1.41, returned from Vaag 25.1.41 and received back in Thorshavn on 27 January. Returned to sender without being paid by addressee.

Prepaid entire from Copenhagen 23 June 1850 to Frederiksted, Danish West Indies. Paid 79 sk. in cash and noted ‘8’ top middle for 8 sk. late delivery fee between 1-2 hours after closing hours at the Copenhagen post office. British postage share 1/4d, London transit mark on front.

Prepaid envelope from Haderslev 18 January 1863 to Christiansted, Danish West Indies. Paid 48 sk. with 39/9 sk. foreign/Danish share of the postage. Hamburg transit, London transit and Christiansted date stamps on front, and red crayon ‘4’ cents for local delivery in DWI.

Entire sent from Christianhavns Caserne 21 December 1850 to Roskilde. Footpost cancellation Skilling 5 OVA-1 ‘F: 10 21/12 50 P:’ and on reverse Antiqua III ‘KJØBENHAVN 21/12 1850’ both in bluish green ink. Letter list ‘6 – 3’, no. 6 on the list and rate 3 sk. to Roskilde, in Roskilde 2 sk. local carrier’s fee, total due red crayon ‘5’ charged on front. Footpost letter sent to other cities in Denmark are quite unusual.

Letter from Copenhagen 18 December 1862 to Barth, Mecklenburg. 2 sk. 1855 and 16 sk. 1857 dotted spandrels, both tied by duplex “181 - SJ.JB.P.SP.B. 2 TOG” alongside boxed “Aus Dänemark” with transit marks “KDOPA Hamburg”, 2-ring “HAMBURG” and two-ring “BAHNHOF-HAGENOW” on reverse. The combination with 2 sk. 55 and 16 sk. 1857 is possible the only recorded, rate 18 sk. 15.7.1854 – 31.7.1865.

Entire letter delivered within Copenhagen ramparts 25 October 1818. Charged ‘8ß’ noted on back. In Copenhagen Foot-Post list no. 31 noted in NW-corner. Copenhagen Foot-Post struck FP type II in negative red imprint, only two-three such examples are recorded, stamped in red wax and with red crayon a cross. A great Foot-Post rarity in excellent condition.
