Double weight letter sent from Roeskilde 2 April 1863 to Copenhagen. Postage 8 sk. 1-2 lod, paid with 8 sk. 1857 dotted spandrels tied with numeral 58 and datestamp ANTIII ROESKILDE 2/4 1863. A most fresh and well preserved letter.

Letter from Herning 12 October 1855 to Copenhagen. Postage 4 sk. rate franked with 4 sk. 1854 I. printing dotted spandrels. Numeral 84 and datestamp HERNING 12.10.1855. Superb condition.

Air mail letter sent from Copenhagen to Brazil 15 June 1936 bearing HC Andersen 30 øre 3-strip and pair 2 Kr. King Chr. X tied by CDS “KØBENHAVN 12 - 15.6.36” and front stamped with red “DEUTSCHE LUFTPOST - EUROPA-SÜDAMERIKA”. Letter rate 30 øre 0-20 gram, plus 2x 230 øre airmail surcharge each 5 gr (5-10 gram), correct franking of 490 øre.

Registered letter sent from “Commission Internationale Slesvig” in Flensburg 21 April 1920 to Næstved and franked with 75 pf overprinted CIS. Letter rate 30 pf and registration fee 30 pf, total franked 60 pf, apparantly overfranked by 15 pf.

Letter sent from Aarhus 2 February 1942 to Max Andersen, a Danish slave labourer in Germany at the camp “Lager zur Hochbrücke Kiel-Wik under control of “Marinebauamt”, but then returned to sender with the message that he has left the camp. A rare example showing that Germany also used a lot of Danish slave labourers.

4S stationery envelope sent from Nakskov to Sierhagen, Neustadt-Holsteen on 2 September 1866 cancelled with numeral “43” alongside CDS “NAKSKOV 2/9 7F-3E”. With the rate to Northern Germany at favored 6 sk. rate for first letter rate 1.8.1865.-.31.12.1874, 2 sk. missing. First postmarked “UTILSTRÆKKELIGT FRANKERET” and charged “2” sk. in red crayon, then cancelled as sender paid the 2 sk. in cash and notation “franco 2”. Rare mixed franking with postage paid partly in cash.

Lettersheet sent from Stokkemarke 5 March 1865 to Nykjøbing, bearing a 4 sk. Coat-of-Arms 64 II printing, tied by numeral 110, 1-line mark “Stokkemarke.” + datemanuscript 5/3 65. 4 sk. with short perforations.

Unpaid letter sent from Stettin to Copenhagen 16 August 1855. Octogonal “FRA STETTIN” in blue colour, scarce in this colour. The postmark was used on board the mail steamer on letters found in the mail box. Conventional 18 sk. postage as per postal agreement per 1 February 1854, noted with pencel “18” sk. and due by recipient.

”Nestved – 15. Mai 1852.” 2-line cancel on front of 6 sk. prepaid letter to Copenhagen. Extremely fine example of a popular postmark. Rare in this quality.

Letter sent from Randers to Copenhagen 18 May 1864 bearing a 4 sk. rouletted 1863 tied by numeral “53” alongside CDS “Randers 18.5 7-9 EF”. The first armistice was in place on 12th May until 25th June and in this period the letter was sent.

Rural letter sent from Taanum to Bjerregrav near Randers the 30 June 1885 bearing a 4 øre bicolored 34th printing tied by two-ring private rural cancel “TAANUN BREVSEMLINGSSTED 30/6” and “S T” initials added to the stamp, but not on the departing postmark dated 1/7 on reverse. A most striking a fascinating example of the Danish private rural postmarks.

Letter sent from Aalborg to Gothenburg via Copenhagen 9 May 1855. Manuscript “f. Aalborg” and “pr. Iris” steamer from Aalborg to Copenhagen, there dropped in letter box and stamped with the Compass stamp.

Partly paid letter sent from Kolding to Frederikshald 14 September 1863 via Sandøsund 17 September. Danish postage 20 sk, consisting of 2 Lsk. Danish share, Seapostage 2 Lsk. and Norwegian share 2 Lsk. However partly franking not allowed, therefore full postage claimed, 12 sk. specie plus 1 sk. delivery fee, total 13 sk. specie due by the addressee.

Letter sent from Oksbøl to Geneve 3 October 1945, bearing one 40 øre Chr. X steel engraving issue, tied by CDS “OKSBØL” swiss type mark. Sent from the refugee camp “Oksbøl” and stamped on reverse with oval mark in blue “St. C. L./LEJRCHEFEN/I OXBØL” alongside line mark “Censureret” and censors signature.

Freight Bill for two empty “wagons” bearing a 3-strip of 1 Kr. King Chr. X tied by two-ring mark “AGGERSUND FÆRGERI”. Scarcely seen, as mixed franking are the most commonly seen.

Airmail letter sent from Copenhagen to St. Louis 3 July 1945 bearing correct postage of 125 øre, foreign rate 40 øre plus 85 øre airmail surcharge. Stamped 2-line “par avion - jusqu' à N. York.” - Rarely seen routing mark on letters. Danish and US censorship.
