5 aur BRJEFSPJALD sent from Reykjavik to Berlin 17 July 1898, with additional franking 5 aur perf 12 3/4, Edinburgh transit mark and receiving mark Berlin on front, re-addressed in Berlin. Forerunner for picture postcards, with photograph affixed on reverse.

5 aur postal stationery sent from Reykjavik to Wilwaukee Wisconsin USA on 28 September 1898, additional franked with 5 aur perf 12 3/4 II. printing. Map of Iceland printed on reverse, three such stationeries recorded to Iceland.

PRINTED MATTER - WRAPPER BAND sent from Reykjavik to Angermünde in Germany bearing a five-strip of 3 aur small “3”. Despite the faults on the three of the stamps, and extremely are postal item.

Letter from Reykjavik sent to Osnabrück 11. August 1910 and franked with five 1 eyr and 3 aur two-kings issue. Forwarded to St. Anton, Konstanz, Schwarzwald. On UK arrival marked with boxed “SHIP LETTER – TROON”. A very decorative letter.

Postcard sent from Seydisfjördur to Copenhagen 20 June 1907 bearing two 4 øre King Christian IX tied by CDS “Seydisfjördur” with Copenhagen arrival mark on front 29.6.1907. Carried aboard s.s. “Vesta”.

10 aur double Postal card “BREJFSPJALD” with unsevered reply card Schilling #3, sent from Seydisfjördur 12 July 1891 to Otterup, and from there returned to Seydisfjördur 24 July. Rare with unsevered reply card.

Postal stationery Reykjavik 22 August 1894 to Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. 8 aur stationery card uprated with 3 aur IV printing pale brown orange (AFA 12) tied by “REYKJAVIK 22/8” CDS. 2 aur stamp did not exist and inevitably overpaid by 1 eyr to pay for the 10 aur UPU rate for postal stationery. Three postal stationery recorded to Brazil, one 10 aur stationery card, one 5 aur stationery + 5 aur, and this splendid card and another card to Surinam. No letters sent to South America has been recorded.

Registered letter sent from Reykjavik to Kenzingen in Germany 7 November 1901, bearing a franking of 56 aur, 40 aur second letter rate plus registration fee of 16 aur. Franked with pairs of 5 aur 1896, 4 aur1900, 3 aur 1901 (large 3), 10 aur 1897 and 6 aur 1897. Transit mark Christiania 16 November 1901. Colour full letter and unusual combination with 5 colour franking with all the stamps in pairs !

6-strip 6 aur 1897 cancelled with Reykjavik swiss type cds. Any used multiple of Icelandic stamps are scarce. With some faults.

10 øre Sweden reply-card sent from Reykjavik Iceland to Stockholm May 1900 via Troon with boxed “SHIP LETTER TROON” and transit ship mark “Sassnitz-Trelleborg” with Stockholm arrival mark on front. Very few early reply cards known from Iceland, this is apparently the only Swedish recorded earlier than 1900.

Postcard sent from Reykjavik to Hanoi, Tonkin 5 June 1901, bearing a 6 aur and 4 aur perf. 12 _, tied by CDS “REYKJAVIK” swiss type and Hanoi Tonkin 24 July receiving mark on front. Despite the missing part of the 4 aur NE corner, still an attractive postcard to a hitherto unrecorded destination.

5 AUR overprint on 8 aur King Christian IX reply card additionally franked with 3 aur brown Chr. X on postcard sent locally in Reykjavik 13 October 1921, correct local rate 8 aur from 15 May 1921 to 31 December 1932. Ringstrøm Nr. 51, original double card 20 type I or IV, Hjernamegin (mà).

"Block of four with Provisional Ze-tenant "Prir" SMALL / LARGE overprint perforation 12 3/4, cancelled with “REYKJAVIK 14.11.1897” CDS. Only 3-4 used blocks of four recorded, this could well be the best preserved and well centred stamps and nicely cancelled."

10 aur Airmail Parliament 1000 years, official stamp overprinted “Pjonustumerki” in pair. Variety with only one of the stamps overprinted. As far as I have found out, such a pair has not previously been reported.

PRINTED MATTER Official letter from Reykjavik to Vík í Myrdal April 9, 1941 franked with a single overprinted Pjónusta 10 aur King Christian X issue. Rate 10 aur for printed matters weighing up to 50 grams. Rare

16 sk. yellow perf 12 1/2 corner block of four with full margin. Fine centering, unused.

3 aur (1901) Aur-value, black print, imperforate. Facit 21v2. Rare.

16 Aur-value, black print, imperforate, thin smooth paper. Small faults. FACIT does list a black proof in vertical pair with 5 aur, rare.

Insufficiently franked 10 øre Postcard sent from Trondhjem via Leith to Reykjavik. Charged 20 øre due, for which amount a Two Kings 20 aur (1907) stamp were affixed in Reykjavik and tied by “Reykjavik 11.11.09” CDS. Iceland did not have any postage due stamps and instead ordinary stamps were used instead, and these usages are quite scarce.
